The details of support available can change, so before you apply it's best to speak to the named contact to check exactly what they offer.
Here at ARU we are committed to supporting care leavers and care experienced students throughout their higher education experience. It is an exciting time, but we know it can be daunting, so we will support you every step of the way.
Our Outreach team offer support before you apply through events and activities to help you navigate university life, help with your UCAS form, pre-entry advice and admission support. For more information, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org. The Outreach team will also contact you if you tick the care leaver box on your UCAS form to make sure you are aware of the support available.
Then the Student Experience Team (myself, Elly Page and Jamie Carson) are here to support you throughout your studies and to answer any questions you might have and you can reach us by emailing email@example.com. We also offer priority for accommodation for the duration of your course, money advice and the ARU Care Leaver Bursary, plus access to other specialist student support including Counselling and Wellbeing, Disability and Dyslexia Support and Employability.
If you need further advice or guidance, please either look on our website (https://aru.ac.uk/study/more-information-for-applicants/care-leavers) or email us.

Please email us on firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like more information.
You are also a priority group for any of our other support funds such as Disability Support and the ARU hardship fund. Both can be applied for once you start with us. You can find more details at: www.anglia.ac.uk/moneyadvice.
ARU also has the ARU Bursary, a yearly cash bursary of up to £300 if you are studying on an undergraduate course and have a low income (part-time students receive a pro-rata rate).
