The details of support available can change, so before you apply it's best to speak to the named contact to check exactly what they offer.
Coventry University is committed to supporting all of its students, but especially those that may have faced a few more obstacles than others. We have held the Buttle UK Quality Mark, and are keen to continue with the support we have put in place, such as guaranteed accommodation for the duration of your course and a mentoring scheme in the first year of your studies, as well as a team of experienced counsellors offering a professional and confidential service. The Welfare Assistant is your named contact, and is available to answer any questions, even before you decide that Coventry University is the place for you.

The hardship fund is a pot of money funded by the university to assist anyone in difficulty.
All applicants are means-tested, and would have to be in receipt of all other available funding, e.g loans/grants, before applying. This fund is only accessible once a student has fully enrolled, and although it isn't exclusively for care leavers, you are considered a priority group. Details of the scholarships that are offered at Coventry University can be found at: www.coventry.ac.uk/study-at-coventry/student-support/finance/undergraduate-finance/scholarships/.
Coventry University is offering free accommodation to 10 care leavers on a first come first serve basis, you can find further information here: https://www.coventry.ac.uk/news/2020/coventry-university-to-offer-free-accommodation/
