At Doncaster College we recognise that sometimes young people with experience of being in care want or need a little extra support.
We are committed to ensuring our looked-after young people and care leavers receive the best opportunities and support to succeed. Our Youth Engagement Worker for Looked-After Children will offer each young person personalised support, which can include the following:
advice and guidance
retention and progression support
advocating on your behalf
support in accessing services

If you are a Care Leaver and choose to study a Higher Education, Undergraduate Programme at Doncaster College, you can apply for the Care Leaver Bursary Award Programme. This bursary is provided by Doncaster College/University Centre to assist eligible students with their course-related costs. The aim of the bursary is to assist eligible Care Leavers with costs such as travel, materials, and equipment. Students would need to have already applied to Student Finance England to be eligible for the award.
There is also the Access to Learning Fund. The Access to Learning Fund is a hardship fund and is in place to help students who can evidence hardship, but please be informed, support is not guaranteed through the Access to Learning Fund.
