Salford City College has been awarded the prestigious Buttle UK Quality Mark in recognition of its commitment to young people in and leaving care.

Created by Buttle UK – the largest grant-giving organisation in the country directly supporting children and families living in poverty – the charity awards the Quality Mark to colleges and universities that commit to support a young person who has been in care, to access further and higher education, successfully complete their studies and achieve their ambitions.

Accommodation we offer

  • A place to live all year round
  • If not, help finding somewhere to live for the whole year

Funding support we offer

  • Support for students seeking asylum
  • Support for those with discretionary leave to remain
  • Financial advice

At Salford City College we want you to achieve your full potential, and that’s why there is a support package available that is specifically for young people in care/care leavers. This support includes:

  • financial assistance  up to £1,200 p/a
  • emotional/personal support
  • academic support.
