Welcome to the University of Bristol. We are pleased you are thinking of studying with us. We have a team of people who are here to help you find the information you need, and to help you feel supported and make the most of your time at university.Zaynab Hamdi works in our Widening Participation team and can help you with pre-entry support, including applying to UoB, outreach activities, and information about the support available to you once you start your studies with us.Maria Tottle will be your personal adviser whilst you studying with us. Maria offers email and telephone support once you have been offered a place, and the opportunity for one-to-one and group meetings when you are here. She can help with general settling in, or any worries you might have, coordinates peer mentoring, and can also help by signposting you to a range of other services and people available to help you.The university makes contextual offers to Care Leavers (usually a 2-grade reduction). The University of Bristol is delighted to be working with Unite to provide Unite Foundation scholarships. As a care leaver who is 25 or under, you can apply for one of these scholarships that provide free en-suite accommodation for three years of undergraduate study. The deadline for applications is 1 June each year. You can find out more about this on the University's Unite Foundation scholarship webpage: http://www.bristol.ac.uk/fees-funding/awards/unite/
If you are 25 or under, you may also be eligible for the Bristol Standalone Bursary. This bursary is currently £1,500, which is made in each year of study to eligible students: www.bristol.ac.uk/fees-funding/awards/standalone-bursary/.
Other bursaries you may eligible for are the UoB bursary and an accommodation bursary for those living in university halls of accommodation. If you experience financial difficulty after starting your studies with us, you may be able to get some extra help through our financial assistance fund.
